Problem: Moisture sensor fault; sensor bars dirty, damaged, or circuit malfunction affecting auto-dry function
How to Fix Dryer Error
- UNPLUG dryer from electrical power.
- Open dryer door. Locate moisture sensor bars inside drum (typically two parallel metal strips on front bulkhead).
- Clean sensor bars thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and non-abrasive cloth to remove fabric softener residue or buildup.
- Inspect sensor bars for cracks, corrosion, or physical damage. Check wiring harness connections at sensor and main board.
- Test sensor circuit continuity per service manual specifications using multimeter.
- If bars are damaged or circuit tests faulty, replace moisture sensor assembly using OEM part DC34-00042A.
- Remove mounting screws securing sensor assembly. Disconnect wiring harness. Install new assembly ensuring proper alignment.
- Reconnect harness. Reassemble components. Restore power and run auto-dry cycle with damp load to verify proper cycle termination.
Still Not Working?
If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
