Error Code: F22 Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Door Lock Error
How to Fix F22 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Unplug the washing machine from its power source and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Open the washer door. The door lock assembly is located on the front frame of the washer, where the door latch engages.
- To access it, you must peel back the large rubber door seal (bellow). Find the outer wire spring clamp holding the bellow in place and carefully pry it off with a flathead screwdriver.
- With the clamp removed, peel the bellow away from the frame in the area of the door lock.
- You will now see the screws that secure the door lock assembly. Remove these screws.
- Reach in and pull the lock assembly out. Take a photo of the wire connector, then disconnect it.
- Connect the new door lock, mount it in place with the screws, and carefully re-secure the rubber bellow with its spring clamp.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
