Problem: Heater relay fault; relay stuck open/closed or control board circuit failure
How to Fix Dishwasher Error
- Unplug dishwasher and allow 30 minutes for components to cool.
- Remove lower access panel to access main control board and heater assembly.
- Disconnect wiring harness from heater terminals. Label connections.
- Test heater element resistance: proper reading 15-30Ω. Replace heater if open/shorted (separate procedure).
- If heater tests good, inspect main control board near heater relay for burnt contacts or damaged traces.
- Test relay operation per service manual using multimeter during simulated heat cycle.
- If relay is faulty or board shows damage: replace main control board using OEM part DD92-00001A.
- Transfer all connectors to new board one-by-one. Secure mounting screws to 4 in-lbs torque.
- Reconnect heater wiring. Reinstall access panel.
- Restore power. Run Sanitize cycle while monitoring water temperature with external thermometer (should reach 155°F).
Still Not Working?
If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
