How to Fix E12 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Disconnect the refrigerator from the wall outlet to prevent any electrical accidents.
- Empty the freezer of all food and shelves to get clear access to the back.
- Unscrew and remove the interior rear panel inside the freezer. This will expose the evaporator fan.
- Unplug the wire harness that connects the fan motor to the refrigerator’s electrical system.
- Remove the screws that mount the fan motor and its bracket to the freezer wall.
- Take out the old fan motor, transfer the fan blade to the new motor, and mount the new motor in place.
- Reconnect the wire harness, reinstall the back panel, and restore power to the refrigerator.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
