How to Fix E12 Error (Step-by-Step)

Disconnect the refrigerator from the wall outlet to prevent any electrical accidents.
Empty the freezer of all food and shelves to get clear access to the back.
Unscrew and remove the interior rear panel inside the freezer. This will expose the evaporator fan.
Unplug the wire harness that connects the fan motor to the refrigerator’s electrical system.
Remove the screws that mount the fan motor and its bracket to the freezer wall.
Take out the old fan motor, transfer the fan blade to the new motor, and mount the new motor in place.
Reconnect the wire harness, reinstall the back panel, and restore power to the refrigerator.
