Problem: Drain pump electrical fault – open circuit or short detected in pump motor
How to Fix Washer Error
- Unplug washer and remove lower front panel.
- Locate drain pump assembly mounted at bottom front of tub.
- Disconnect pump wiring harness connector.
- Measure resistance across pump motor terminals with multimeter (should read 10-20 ohms).
- If resistance is infinite (open circuit) or zero (shorted), pump motor has failed.
- Verify 120V AC reaches pump connector during drain cycle (use multimeter with washer running).
- Inspect wiring harness between pump and control board for damage near vibration points.
- Check pump impeller for freedom of movement (remove filter cap and rotate manually).
- If electrical tests confirm pump failure, replace drain pump assembly W
- After replacement, run diagnostic drain cycle verifying pump operates continuously during drain phase without overheating.
Still Not Working?
If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
