How to Fix E5E Error (Step-by-Step)
- Disconnect the washer from power and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Remove the washer’s top and back panels to access the control boards.
- Identify the main control board (top) and the motor control board (bottom).
- Trace the communication cable (a multi-wire harness) that connects the two boards.
- Check for a secure connection at both ends. Unplug the connectors, inspect for corrosion on the pins, and plug them back in securely.
- If connections are good, the motor control board is the next part to replace. Follow the steps for error E5A to replace it.
- After replacement, reattach the panels and test the machine and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
