How to Fix E44 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Unplug the washer from the wall outlet and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Remove the top panel of the appliance by unscrewing it from the rear.
- Locate the main control board. Before touching it, take a clear photograph of the wiring for reference during reassembly.
- Carefully press the locking tabs on each wire connector and pull to disconnect them from the board.
- Remove the screws or release the plastic tabs that hold the control board housing in place.
- Swap the old board with the new one, ensuring it is properly seated.
- Reconnect all wiring harnesses as per your photo, then reinstall the top panel and plug the washer in.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
