Problem: Dispenser fan failure (on models with internal air circulation in fresh food compartment)
How to Fix Refrigerator Error
- Unplug refrigerator and remove all food from fresh food compartment.
- Locate dispenser fan assembly (typically mounted behind rear wall panel near water filter housing).
- Remove interior panels as necessary to access fan motor.
- Manually spin fan blade – should rotate freely without binding.
- Disconnect fan wiring harness and measure resistance across motor terminals (should read 50-150 ohms).
- Verify 12V DC reaches fan connector during operation (test at connector).
- Inspect fan blade for cracks or deformation causing imbalance.
- Check wiring harness for damage near water lines where moisture causes corrosion.
- If motor resistance is infinite or fan doesn’t run with power applied, replace dispenser fan motor (part of WPW10662132 assembly).
- After replacement, verify proper airflow through crisper drawers and temperature uniformity throughout compartment.
Still Not Working?
If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
