Error Code: FLASHING “B” LED Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Evaporator sensor malfunction or refrigerant leakage.
How to Fix FLASHING “B” LED Error (Step-by-Step)
- UNPLUG THE REFRIGERATOR: Before starting any repair, disconnect the appliance from the wall outlet to prevent electrical shock.
- EMPTY THE FREEZER: Remove all food, shelves, ice trays, and the icemaker (if applicable) to get clear access to the interior back panel.
- REMOVE THE EVAPORATOR COVER: Using a screwdriver or nut driver, remove the screws holding the panel at the back of the freezer. The panel may be stuck with frost; gently pry it loose, being careful not to crack the plastic.
- LOCATE AND DISCONNECT THE SENSOR: The evaporator sensor is a small plastic probe clipped directly onto the metal evaporator coils. Carefully unclip it and follow its wire to a small plastic connector. Press the tab on the connector to release and unplug the old sensor.
- INSTALL THE NEW SENSOR: Clip the new sensor onto the evaporator coil in the same position as the old one. Plug the new sensor’s wire harness into the connector until it clicks securely in place.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
- Check for simple blockages (lint screen, drain path, or filter) and clean anything you find.
