Problem: Door not fully closed/latched or door switch not detecting closed position
How to Fix Dryer Error
- Open and firmly reclose dryer door—listen for distinct latch click.
- Inspect door gasket for tears, folds, or debris preventing full closure—clean or replace as needed.
- Check door strike plate alignment on front panel—should engage latch mechanism fully without binding.
- Manually test door switch operation: with door closed, gently press on door near latch area—dryer should start if switch was marginally engaged.
- If door appears fully closed but error persists, unplug dryer and remove front lower panel to access door switch WPW
- Inspect switch plunger alignment—door strike must fully depress plunger when closed. Adjust strike plate position if misaligned (loosen mounting screws slightly and reposition).
- Test door switch continuity with multimeter—replace WPW10441007 if faulty (see F5E1 procedure).
- Check door hinge screws for looseness—tighten if door sags preventing proper closure.
- After adjustments, close door firmly and press START—error should clear automatically.
- If error returns consistently, control board door sense circuit may be faulty—replace WPW10111608 after verifying switch and wiring.
Still Not Working?
If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
