Problem: Lid Lock Failure
How to Fix LDL Error (Step-by-Step)
- Unplug the washer from the wall outlet to ensure your safety.
- Locate the lid lock assembly. It is typically found beneath the main top of the washer, near the opening where the lid closes.
- To access the lock, you will likely need to raise the main top. Look for and remove the screws at the back or sides of the washer top panel.
- Carefully disconnect the wire harness that plugs into the lid lock assembly. There is usually a small clip you need to press to release it.
- Remove the screws holding the old lid lock in place and take the old assembly out.
- Position the new lid lock assembly (part W11307244, W10810403, or W11253733) and secure it with the screws.
- Reconnect the wire harness, lower the main top back into position, and replace its screws.
- Plug the washer back in and start a cycle to confirm the new lock works correctly.
