Locate the lid lock assembly. It is typically found beneath the main top of the washer, near the opening where the lid closes.
To access the lock, you will likely need to raise the main top. Look for and remove the screws at the back or sides of the washer top panel.
Carefully disconnect the wire harness that plugs into the lid lock assembly. There is usually a small clip you need to press to release it.
Remove the screws holding the old lid lock in place and take the old assembly out.
Position the new lid lock assembly (part W11307244, W10810403, or W11253733) and secure it with the screws.
Reconnect the wire harness, lower the main top back into position, and replace its screws.
Plug the washer back in and start a cycle to confirm the new lock works correctly.
