How to Fix F8 E1 Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Unplug the washer and turn off the hot and cold water supply lines.
  2. Place a towel behind the washer to catch any residual water and disconnect the water inlet hoses from the back of the machine.
  3. Remove the screws from the back panel to access the water inlet valve at the top.
  4. Disconnect the wire harnesses attached to the valve solenoids and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
  5. Remove the screws holding the water inlet valve assembly in place and remove the old valve.
  6. Install the new water inlet valve (Part: W11220230, 205613, or W11210459) and secure it with its mounting screws.
  7. Reconnect the wire harnesses and water hoses, then turn the water on and check for leaks before plugging the washer back in.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
