Error Code: F21 Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Long Drain
How to Fix F21 Error (Step-by-Step)
- First, check the drain hose at the back of the washer. Make sure it is not kinked, clogged, or inserted too far into the standpipe (no more than 6-8 inches).
- If the hose is clear, unplug the washer from power.
- You will need to drain the remaining water from the tub. Place a shallow pan and towels on the floor and disconnect the drain hose from the standpipe to let the water drain out.
- To access the drain pump, you may need to tilt the machine or remove the front or back panel.
- Locate the drain pump at the bottom of the washer. Disconnect the hoses attached to it (be prepared for more water) and the electrical connector.
- Remove the screws or clips holding the old pump, and install the new one.
- Reconnect the hoses and electrical wire, reassemble the washer, and run a drain/spin cycle to test.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
