How to Fix H2O LIGHT Error (Step-by-Step)

1. Locate the water filter housing, which is typically in the upper-right corner of the fresh food compartment or in the base grille at the bottom.
2. If in the grille, push the eject button to release the filter. If inside, turn the filter cap or the filter itself counter-clockwise about a quarter turn.
3. Pull the old filter straight out from the housing. A small amount of water may drip out.
4. Remove the protective caps from the new filter and insert it into the housing.
5. Push the filter in and turn it clockwise until it locks firmly in place.
6. Press and hold the ‘Filter Reset’ button on your dispenser control panel for about 3 seconds until the light turns off or changes color.
7. Run approximately two gallons of water through the dispenser to flush the new filter before use.
8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
