How to Fix F7 E5 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Disconnect the washer from the electrical outlet and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Shut off the water supply valves leading to the washer.
- Tilt the machine forward to access the components underneath. Ensure it is stable and will not fall.
- Locate the shift actuator (Part: WPW10006355). It is mounted to the side of the transmission.
- Unplug the electrical connector attached to the actuator. Use a screwdriver or socket to remove the mounting screws.
- Position the new shift actuator and secure it with the screws. Reconnect the electrical plug.
- Gently set the washer back down, plug it in, and turn the water back on to test the repair.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
