Problem: Temperature error – thermistor reading impossible values
How to Fix tE Error
- UNPLUG THE DRYER. This is a ‘Temperature Error’, indicating a thermistor is reading impossible values (usually shorted or open).
- There are typically two thermistors: inlet and outlet. Both can be tested. Remove the rear panel.
- Locate the thermistors on the blower housing and heater duct. Disconnect the wiring and test resistance with a multimeter.
- Both should read around 10,000 ohms (10kΩ) at room temperature. If either reads near zero or infinite, it has failed and must be replaced.
- Replace the faulty thermistor, reconnect the wiring, and reassemble.
