Problem: Door lock error – washer door/lid was unable to lock

How to Fix dE Error

First, ensure the door is closed completely and nothing is caught in it. Press firmly on the door to engage the latch.
If the error persists, unplug the washer. The door lock/latch assembly has likely failed.
For front-load washers, you’ll need to remove the top panel, then peel back the door boot gasket clamp to access the lock assembly from inside the cabinet.
Disconnect the wire harness from the lock.
Remove the screws holding the lock assembly in place and replace it with the new one.
Reassemble everything in reverse order.
