Problem: Door lock error – washer door/lid was unable to lock
How to Fix dE Error
- First, ensure the door is closed completely and nothing is caught in it. Press firmly on the door to engage the latch.
- If the error persists, unplug the washer. The door lock/latch assembly has likely failed.
- For front-load washers, you’ll need to remove the top panel, then peel back the door boot gasket clamp to access the lock assembly from inside the cabinet.
- Disconnect the wire harness from the lock.
- Remove the screws holding the lock assembly in place and replace it with the new one.
- Reassemble everything in reverse order.
