How to Fix Refrigerator Error
- UNPLUG unit.
- Remove rear lower access panel to access compressor.
- Locate temperature sensor clipped to compressor shell (small probe with 2 wires, often under tape).
- Carefully peel back tape/clamp to access sensor connector.
- Disconnect and test resistance (should read 5k-15k ohms at room temp).
- Replace sensor if open/shorted.
- Reattach new sensor to compressor shell in same location using high-temp adhesive or metal strap – MUST maintain good thermal contact.
- If sensor good but error persists, suspect failing compressor windings causing actual overtemperature condition – requires professional diagnosis.
