Problem: Outlet thermistor failure – temperature sensor open or reading out of range
How to Fix 002 Error
- UNPLUG THE DRYER. This code indicates the outlet thermistor has failed (open circuit or out of range).
- The outlet thermistor is located on the heater duct assembly, accessible by removing the dryer’s rear panel.
- Disconnect the wire harness and test the thermistor’s resistance with a multimeter.
- A functional thermistor should read around 10,000 ohms (10kΩ) at room temperature. If you get an infinite reading (OL), it has failed.
- Replace the faulty thermistor, reconnect the wiring, and reinstall the rear panel.
