Problem: Clogged drain pump.
How to Fix EF1 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Unplug the washer from the electrical outlet and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Prepare some towels and a shallow pan to catch residual water.
- Locate the small access door for the pump filter, usually on the bottom front corner of the washer.
- Open the door and slowly unscrew the filter cap, allowing the water to drain into the pan.
- Once drained, completely remove the filter and clean it thoroughly of any lint, hair, coins, or other debris.
- Check inside the filter housing for any obstructions as well.
- Screw the filter back in securely, close the access door, and plug the washer back in.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
