How to Fix E4 Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Press the pause button to stop the cycle and wait for the door to unlock.
  2. Open the door and redistribute the laundry load, moving items around so they are spread evenly inside the drum.
  3. Avoid washing single heavy items, like a bath mat, by themselves. Add a few towels to balance the load.
  4. Check if the washer is level by placing a bubble level on top of the machine. Check front-to-back and side-to-side.
  5. Adjust the washer’s leveling feet at each corner by screwing them up or down until the machine is stable and level.
  6. Tighten the lock nuts on the leveling feet against the base of the washer to secure them in place.
  7. Close the door and resume the wash cycle and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
