⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: I5B Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Wash pump motor issue.
How to Fix I5B Error (Step-by-Step)
- Disconnect the dishwasher from its electrical power source at the circuit breaker.
- Shut off the hot water supply line, typically located under the sink.
- Carefully slide the dishwasher out from its cabinet and lay it on its back on a protective surface.
- Locate the wash pump and motor assembly on the bottom of the dishwasher tub.
- Before replacing, check that the wiring to the motor is secure and undamaged and that the connected hoses are not kinked.
- If connections are good, the motor has likely failed and the entire pump assembly (Part #154844301, #807473201, or #154853801) needs to be replaced.
- Install the new pump, reattach hoses and wires, set the dishwasher upright, and reconnect all utilities to test.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
