Problem: Wash pump motor issue.
How to Fix I53 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Cut power to the dishwasher via the circuit breaker and turn off the water supply line.
- Slide the dishwasher out and lay it on its back on a protective blanket to access the motor.
- The wash pump motor is located at the bottom of the unit. Disconnect the wire harnesses connected to it.
- Use pliers to release the clamps on the hoses connected to the motor and slide them off.
- Remove the fasteners securing the motor to the dishwasher frame and take out the old motor.
- Position the new motor and secure it with the fasteners. Reconnect the hoses and wire harnesses.
- Set the dishwasher upright, slide it back in, restore power and water, and check its function with a full cycle.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
