Problem: Ice maker sensor failure.
How to Fix F05 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Turn off the circuit breaker for the refrigerator to completely disconnect power.
- Remove the ice bucket from the freezer to gain access to the ice maker assembly.
- Loosen the mounting screws that hold the ice maker to the freezer wall or ceiling.
- Carefully pull the ice maker forward and locate the wire harness connection. Press the release tab and disconnect the harness to fully remove the assembly.
- Locate the sensor on the old ice maker assembly. It may be held by clips or a small screw. Remove it and install the new sensor in its place, ensuring it is securely fastened.
- Reconnect the wire harness to the new ice maker assembly and position it back onto the mounting screws. Tighten the screws to secure it.
- Reinstall the ice bucket, restore power at the circuit breaker, and allow several hours for the new ice maker to cycle and begin producing ice.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
