Error Code: E80 Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Fault in the drive circuit.
How to Fix E80 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Disconnect the dryer from its power source completely and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- The drive motor is typically located at the base of the dryer. You will need to remove front or rear panels to gain access.
- Before removing the motor, take a picture of the wiring connections for reference.
- Loosen the tension on the drive belt and slip it off the motor pulley.
- Disconnect the wire harness connected to the motor and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Remove the mounting bolts that secure the motor to the dryer’s frame and carefully lift the old motor out.
- Position the new motor and secure it with the mounting bolts. Reconnect the wire harness and loop the drive belt back over the motor pulley.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
