Error Code: E26 Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Fault with the water diverter motor or water switch.
How to Fix E26 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Disconnect the dishwasher from power and water. Turn off the circuit breaker for the dishwasher and shut off the water supply valve, usually located under the sink.
- Remove the lower access panel. You will typically find a few screws holding the panel below the dishwasher door. Remove them and set the panel aside.
- Locate the water diverter motor. It is a small motor with a plastic housing, usually situated near the center of the dishwasher’s base, connected to the sump.
- Disconnect the wiring and remove the old motor. Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the motor. Then, rotate the motor (usually counter-clockwise) to release it from the sump and pull it out.
- Install the new water diverter motor. Position the new motor in the sump and turn it clockwise to lock it into place. Reconnect the electrical wiring harness.
- Reattach the lower access panel. Secure the panel with the screws you removed earlier.
- Restore power and water. Turn the circuit breaker back on and open the water supply valve. Run a test cycle to ensure the error is cleared and the dishwasher is functioning correctly.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
Still Not Working?
