How to Fix F5 E1 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Unplug the washer from the wall outlet and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Use a putty knife to release the clips on the left and right sides of the top console, allowing you to hinge it backwards.
- Locate the lid lock assembly on the washer’s top panel where the lid striker enters.
- Disconnect the wire harness that connects to the lid lock.
- Remove the mounting screws that secure the old lid lock assembly to the top panel.
- Position the new lid lock assembly and secure it with the mounting screws.
- Reconnect the wire harness, lower the console back into place, and press down to snap it shut.
- Restore power and test the new lid lock by starting a cycle.
