How to Fix DRN Error (Step-by-Step)

1. First, check the drain hose at the back of the washer. Ensure it is not kinked, bent, or clogged.
2. Make sure the drain hose is not inserted too far into the standpipe; it should only be about 4-5 inches in.
3. Unplug the washer. You will need to access the drain pump, which is usually located behind a removable front panel at the bottom of the machine.
4. Place a shallow pan and towels under the pump area to catch residual water. Slowly unscrew the pump’s filter cap to drain the remaining water.
