1. Pull out the dryer’s lint screen and clean it of all lint. If it has a waxy buildup from dryer sheets, wash it with a soft brush and soapy water, then let it dry completely.
2. Unplug the dryer from the wall to ensure your safety during the next steps.
3. Carefully pull the dryer away from the wall and detach the vent hose from the back of the machine.
4. Clear any lint buildup from the dryer’s exhaust port and from the inside of the vent hose itself.
5. Inspect the vent hose for any sections that are crushed or kinked, as this can severely limit airflow. Straighten them out.
