Error Code: LDU Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Lid will not unlock.
How to Fix LDU Error (Step-by-Step)
- First, cancel any active cycle and try to start a new one. Sometimes the control board needs to reset to release the lock.
- Turn off power to the dishwasher by switching off the corresponding circuit breaker in your home’s electrical panel. Wait for 5-10 minutes before restoring power.
- After restoring power, try to open the door. This power cycle can often reset the lock mechanism.
- If the door remains locked, you will need to replace the door latch assembly. This requires accessing the inner door panel.
- With the power still off, remove the screws holding the inner door panel to the outer panel. These are usually located around the perimeter of the inner door.
- Carefully separate the panels to expose the latch assembly. Disconnect the wiring harness connected to the latch.
- Remove the screws holding the old latch in place, install the new latch, and reconnect the wiring. Reassemble the door panels before restoring power to test.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
