How to Fix Washer Error

  1. Unplug washer and verify door/lid closes fully without obstruction.
  2. Remove appropriate panel (kick panel for front-load, top panel for top-load) to access lock assembly.
  3. Manually operate lock mechanism – should move smoothly between locked/unlocked positions.
  4. Disconnect lock wiring harness and measure resistance across coils (primary 300-600 ohms, secondary 1000-1500 ohms).
  5. Verify 120V AC reaches lock during operation (test at connector with door closed).
  6. Inspect lock strike plate alignment – misalignment prevents proper engagement.
  7. Check wiring harness between lock and control board for damage near moving parts.
  8. If lock mechanism binds mechanically, lubricate pivot points with silicone grease (do not use petroleum-based lubricants).
