Problem: Water temperature sensor circuit fault – out of range reading
How to Fix Washer Error
- Unplug washer and remove lower front panel.
- Locate temperature sensor (NTC thermistor) mounted on outer tub near heater.
- Disconnect sensor connector and measure resistance with multimeter.
- At room temperature (77°F/25°C), resistance should be approximately 10kΩ ±5%.
- Dip sensor tip in ice water – resistance sould increase to ~35kΩ.
- Dip sensor tip in hot water (120°F) – resistance should decrease to ~
- 5kΩ.
- If resistance readings are infinite, zero, or don’t change with temperature, replace sensor W
- Inspect wiring harness between sensor and control board for damage or rodent chewing.
- Verify connector pins aren’t corroded or bent.
- After replacement, run hot water cycle and verify displayed temperature increases steadily during fill.
