⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.

Error Code: 6E Difficulty: Moderate

Problem: Motor speed sensor error

How to Fix 6E Error

  1. Disconnect the washer from power.
  2. This error points to the Hall Sensor, which monitors motor speed and direction. The sensor is located on the motor’s stator assembly.
  3. You will need to remove the rear panel and then the rotor bolt and rotor to access the stator.
  4. Disconnect the wire harnesses from the stator and unbolt it from the tub.
  5. The Hall Sensor is a small component on the stator. Replace the sensor (or the entire stator assembly, which is often easier).
  6. Reassemble everything in reverse order.
