How to Fix Samsung Washer Error E9

⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.

Error Code: E9 Difficulty: Moderate

Problem: Water leakage (legacy code)

How to Fix E9 Error

  1. UNPLUG THE WASHER. This is a legacy code indicating a water leak or a drain issue.
  2. First, check the drain pump filter for clogs (located behind the small door at the bottom-front of the washer). Have a towel and pan ready for water.
  3. If the filter is clear, check the drain hose for kinks.
  4. If the drain system is clear, this may be a leak detection error. Tilt the machine forward to drain any water from the base pan, which can reset the sensor. If the error returns, you have an active leak that must be found and repaired.

Still Not Working?

If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
