How to Fix 8E Error

  1. Unplug washer and inspect main power cord for damage or fraying near strain relief.
  2. Check household circuit breaker for partial trip condition (reset fully OFF then ON).
  3. Test noise filter DC96-00488A resistance between L-N (should read 1-2MΩ) and L-G/N-G (should read OL).
  4. Measure inrush current during startup with clamp meter (should not exceed 15A for first 2 seconds).
  5. If current normal but error persists immediately on power-up: replace main PCB DC92-01543A.
  6. If current excessive: inspect all loads (heater, pump, motor) for shorts to ground using megohmmeter (>1MΩ required).
  7. Verify proper grounding continuity from chassis ground lug to outlet ground terminal (<1Ω).
