⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: 8E Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Overcurrent error – excessive amperage draw detected by inverter protection circuit
How to Fix 8E Error
- Unplug washer and inspect main power cord for damage or fraying near strain relief.
- Check household circuit breaker for partial trip condition (reset fully OFF then ON).
- Test noise filter DC96-00488A resistance between L-N (should read 1-2MΩ) and L-G/N-G (should read OL).
- Measure inrush current during startup with clamp meter (should not exceed 15A for first 2 seconds).
- If current normal but error persists immediately on power-up: replace main PCB DC92-01543A.
- If current excessive: inspect all loads (heater, pump, motor) for shorts to ground using megohmmeter (>1MΩ required).
- Verify proper grounding continuity from chassis ground lug to outlet ground terminal (<1Ω).
