How to Fix 4E1 Error

  1. Verify cold water hose connected to cold inlet valve (common installation error).
  2. Disconnect power and access thermistor at bottom front of tub (behind lower panel).
  3. Disconnect connector and measure resistance across thermistor terminals at room temperature (70°F/21°C = ~12kΩ).
  4. Submerge thermistor tip in ice water – resistance should increase to 30-40kΩ within 30 seconds.
  5. Replace thermistor DC34-00024A if readings OL (open) or 0Ω (short) or unstable.
  6. Inspect wiring harness for rodent damage or pinched wires near tub mounting points.
  7. Check connector J3 on main PCB for corrosion – clean with electrical contact cleaner if present.
