Error Code: 4E1 Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Water temperature sensor fault during fill cycle
How to Fix 4E1 Error
- Verify cold water hose connected to cold inlet valve (common installation error).
- Disconnect power and access thermistor at bottom front of tub (behind lower panel).
- Disconnect connector and measure resistance across thermistor terminals at room temperature (70°F/21°C = ~12kΩ).
- Submerge thermistor tip in ice water – resistance should increase to 30-40kΩ within 30 seconds.
- Replace thermistor DC34-00024A if readings OL (open) or 0Ω (short) or unstable.
- Inspect wiring harness for rodent damage or pinched wires near tub mounting points.
- Check connector J3 on main PCB for corrosion – clean with electrical contact cleaner if present.
