⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: HC Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Heater circuit fault – open circuit or short in heating system wiring
How to Fix HC Error
- Test heating element resistance as per HE procedure (20-30Ω normal).
- Inspect element terminals for corrosion or loose connections (clean with wire brush if corroded).
- Check high-limit thermostat continuity mounted adjacent to element (should read closed at room temp, open at 185°F).
- Measure voltage drop across element during operation (should see near full line voltage 110-120V AC).
- Replace heating element DC47-00013A if open circuit or terminals burnt.
- Replace thermostat if open circuit at room temperature.
- If element and thermostat good but no voltage at terminals: replace main PCB DC92-01543A (faulty heater relay).
