⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: Washer Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Motor drive overcurrent fault – excessive amperage draw detected
How to Fix Washer Error
- Unplug washer immediately to prevent motor/control damage.
- Remove rear panel to access drive motor and transmission.
- Manually rotate tub assembly – check for binding indicating bearing failure or foreign object obstruction.
- Inspect drive belt for glazing, cracks, or improper tension (replace if worn).
- Disconnect motor wiring harness and measure winding resistance (should be 4-6 ohms balanced between terminals).
- Check for short to ground by measuring resistance between each terminal and motor frame (should be infinite).
- Inspect motor control unit (MCU) for burnt components near power output stage.
- If mechanical system checks good but error persists, replace MCU W
- After replacement, run diagnostic cycle monitoring motor current draw (should not exceed 6 amps during normal operation).
- If F7E8 returns immediately, suspect seized tub bearing requiring transmission replacement.
