Problem: The main control board cannot communicate with the display panel. This is a common failure of the main board on the back of the fridge, requiring replacement.
How to Fix Er 6F Error

- UNPLUG refrigerator from electrical power for 10 minutes to reset electronics.
- Remove rear access panel and interior control panel to expose wiring harnesses between boards.
- Reseat all connectors between main control board (typically rear compartment) and display board (inside fresh food section).
- Clean connector pins with electrical contact cleaner. Ensure no bent pins or corrosion.
- Inspect entire harness routing for pinched wires, rodent damage, or abrasion near cabinet edges.
- If error persists after reseating: replace main control board using OEM part W
- Transfer all connectors to new board one-by-one. Secure board with mounting screws.
- Restore power. Enter diagnostic mode per model instructions to verify communication with display and all sensors.
- If error remains, replace display/user interface board using model-specific OEM part.
