How to Fix Samsung Washer Error 5C

Error Code: 5C Difficulty: Moderate

Problem: Drain pump obstruction or pressure switch fault causing False full-tub signal

How to Fix 5C Error

1. Clear drain filter thoroughly.
2. Disconnect pressure tube from pump housing and blow through entire length to clear blockages.
3. Test pressure switch continuity while blowing into tube – should click open/close at approximately
4. 5 PSI.
5. Inspect pump volute for foreign objects (remove 3 screws securing pump to tub assembly).
6. Rotate impeller manually – replace pump if binding or broken vanes detected.
7. Check for siphoning: ensure drain hose has proper air gap at standpipe (not sealed airtight).
8. Replace pressure switch DC61-02173A if no continuity change during pressure test or switch stuck closed.

Still Not Working?

If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
