Error Code: Dryer Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Thermistor sub-code tE1: Exhaust thermistor fault (dual-sensor systems)
How to Fix Dryer Error
- UNPLUG dryer from electrical power.
- Remove rear access panel to access blower housing assembly.
- Locate exhaust thermistor (tE1 sensor) mounted on blower housing near exhaust duct. Disconnect wiring harness.
- Measure resistance across sensor terminals with multimeter at room temperature. Expected value: approximately 10kΩ (±10%).
- If reading is infinite, zero, or significantly deviates from specification, replace sensor.
- Remove mounting screw securing thermistor. Gently extract sensor from housing well.
- Clean mounting well with isopropyl alcohol. Apply thermal conductive paste to tip of new sensor.
- Install replacement thermistor using OEM part DC34-00040A. Secure mounting screw to 6 in-lbs torque. Route wiring away from heat sources.
- Reconnect harness. Reassemble panels. Restore power and verify temperature readings update accurately during operation.
