How to Fix Maytag Washer Error F1E2

⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.

Error Code: F1E2 Difficulty: Moderate

Problem: Motor control error or motor drive module fault

How to Fix F1E2 Error

  1. UNPLUG THE WASHER. This is a critical error indicating a fault in the Motor Control Unit (MCU).
  2. The MCU is located at the bottom of the washer, attached near the drive motor. You will need to tilt the washer back or lay it on its front (on protective blankets) to access the bottom panel.
  3. Check all wire harness connections to the MCU and the motor for a secure fit. Look for any signs of damage or burnt components.
  4. If all wiring is intact, the MCU has failed and must be replaced. Disconnect the harnesses, remove the mounting screws, and swap the board.
