Error Code: F20 Difficulty: Moderate

Problem: Heater Circuit Failure (Legacy)

How to Fix F20 Error

  1. This is a heater circuit failure, functionally the same as code ’02’. Disconnect the dryer from power.
  2. Access the components on the heater duct, usually from the rear of the dryer.
  3. Test the thermal fuse for continuity. If it’s open (blown), replace it. A blown fuse often indicates an underlying problem like a clogged vent.
  4. Test the heating element for continuity. If it’s open, replace the element.
  5. After replacing parts, thoroughly clean the dryer’s entire vent path before use.
