⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: E2 Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Thermistor Failure (Legacy)
How to Fix E2 Error
- Unplug the dryer or shut off its circuit breaker.
- The thermistor is a small sensor located on the blower housing or heater duct. You may need to remove the rear or front panel to access it.
- Disconnect the wire harness from the thermistor.
- Use a multimeter to test its resistance. At room temperature (around 77°F/25°C), it should read approximately 10,000 ohms. A significantly different reading, or a reading of infinity, means it’s faulty.
- Replace the thermistor, reconnect the wiring, and reassemble the dryer.
