How to Fix Dishwasher Error

  1. Disconnect power at the circuit breaker.
  2. Remove the lower access panel and toe kick.
  3. Drain any standing water from the dishwasher tub.
  4. Disconnect electrical connections to the heating element.
  5. Test the heating element for continuity with a multimeter (10-30 ohms).
  6. If the element is open, remove mounting nuts securing it to the tub.
  7. Carefully extract the old heating element and clean the mounting surface.
  8. Install the new heating element with a new gasket.
  9. Torque mounting nuts to 15-20 ft-lbs specification.
  10. Reconnect wiring and test the heating cycle.
