Problem: Shorted thermistor/OWI sensor – optical water indicator fault
How to Fix Dishwasher Error
- Disconnect power at the circuit breaker.
- Remove the lower access panel.
- Locate the OWI (optical water indicator) sensor near the wash arm.
- Disconnect the electrical onnector from the sensor.
- Test sensor resistance with a multimeter (should not read zero ohms).
- Inspect the sensor lens for mineral buildup or cloudiness.
- Clean the sensor lens with vinegar solution and a soft cloth.
- If the sensor is electrically shorted, remove mounting screws.
- Install the new OWI sensor assembly.
- Reconnect the electrical connector and run sensor calibration.
