Error Code: LE1 Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Locked motor with possible water level sensing error – motor obstruction on top-load models
How to Fix LE1 Error
- Unplug the washer. This error on a top-load model often indicates something is jamming the motor or clutch.
- Check for any small items that may have gotten between the inner and outer tubs.
- If nothing is found, the issue is likely a faulty Hall Sensor or a failed clutch assembly. This is a major repair requiring removal of the rotor and stator to access the components.
- Test the Hall Sensor for proper readings. If it’s faulty, replace it.
- If the sensor is good, the clutch assembly has likely failed and needs to be replaced.
