Problem: Defrost temperature sensor short or disconnection
How to Fix dS Error
- Unplug the refrigerator from the wall.
- Access the evaporator coils. In most models, this requires emptying the freezer and removing the interior back panel.
- Locate the defrost sensor clipped to the evaporator coil and the thermal fuse, which is also attached to the coils and connected in-line.
- Disconnect the wire harnesses for both components.
- Unclip the old sensor and fuse from the coils.
- Clip the new defrost sensor onto the evaporator tube.
- Install the new thermal fuse, ensuring it is securely clipped in place.
- Reconnect both wire harnesses.
- Reassemble the interior panel and shelves.
- Plug the refrigerator in to test the repair.
