⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: HE Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Heater Error. Water failed to heat or overheated (above 149°F).
How to Fix HE Error
- Turn off power. Inspect the wiring to the heating element (often integrated into the heater case or pump housing on newer models).
- Use a multimeter to test the heater for continuity (resistance should be 10-30 ohms). If the heater reads ‘infinity’ (open line), replace the heating element assembly.
- If the heater tests good, the thermistor may be reporting incorrect temperatures (see tE fix).
- If both heater and thermistor are good, the heater relay on the Main Control Board has likely failed.
