How to Fix HE Error

  1. Turn off power. Inspect the wiring to the heating element (often integrated into the heater case or pump housing on newer models).
  2. Use a multimeter to test the heater for continuity (resistance should be 10-30 ohms). If the heater reads ‘infinity’ (open line), replace the heating element assembly.
  3. If the heater tests good, the thermistor may be reporting incorrect temperatures (see tE fix).
  4. If both heater and thermistor are good, the heater relay on the Main Control Board has likely failed.
